Welcome!
안녕하세요 여러분! Welcome to my rambles and randomness to all things Korean (South). On here I am going to share my journey on exploring Korea and it's culture without (for now) actually going there. Lets have fun making the food and eating it (hmmm yummy nom). I will also use this as an outlet for my obsession with the entertainment industry (music, dramas, reality TV etc). I hope you will join me and enjoy this journey of exploration through posts, pictures and videos. 감사합니다! ^^

Some Korean food before we leave for winter break...
It was our (mine, Jeannie and Hannah) last day before we left for the Thanksgiving/Christmas break and we were drained from finals. So we decided to treat ourselves to some Korean food from Kimchi II.....
(Hannah)
(Jeannie)
I had 불고기(Bulgogi) and Jeannie had 짜장면 (Jjajangmyun) which tasted really good I think that will be the next dish for me. Hannah had 돌솥 비빔밥 (Dolsot Bibimbap) which sounded a lot like fajitas coming out and it looked yummy so I might try that one. lol I will hopefully try their whole menu HAHA.
What is your favourite Korean dish?

Old post...Yummy Dinner and Dessert
I had eaten all the Korean food I brought home for summer (which wasn't a lot) and went on a dinner hunt since I was fending for myself that night. I new I wanted some chocolates to snack on but I had to figure out dinner. So as I wondered the grocery store and I found their Asian section. So far this store has the biggest selection and found that they have shin ramyun. So this was dinner and dessert for the night....
....Hehehe, yummy nom! Cad Roses and Shin Ramyun! It was a good night :D

On my way home...
So I flew from Atlanta to Miami then to Cayman. As always Cayman Airways night flight was late, even though the ticket lady said the plane was already there and we would be leaving early when I checked in. LOL. So enough of my ranting, I did have a pick me up...
...although it was the regular shrimp crackers (remember I said I liked the hot and spicy one, but picked up the wrong one, hehe) I was a happy camper with my snacks and my korean phrase book.
what do you bring with you on the plane?

Yummy nom Korean Ice cream...
I have always seen in dramas and reality shows, 'ice cream this, ice cream that' and they look like they really enjoy it. So, finally I got one, the melon flavoured ice cream bar. Mmmm.....
......맛있다!

Snacks for the trip home...
I went out on Friday of last week to get snacks to carry on the plane with me but...they didn't make it, haha. Between the night I had left in Savannah and the drive down to Atlanta they were gone. lol
I've had Pocky before so it was nice to have the Korean version.
I so prefer the Hot and spicy over the regular brand.
It is sweet at first and I was like 'huh where is the spici....cough cough oh there it is. It is sweet first then..bam...spicy.
I got this because I recently watched the drama 'King of Baking, Kim Tak Goo' and they talked about the red bean bread. I was not sure what to expect but I didn't think it would be sweet. When I say sweet it is really sweet, but then again I ate it after I tasted the topokki snack.
If you had any of the above what were your experiences?

My first real Korean food at Kimchi II.
Kimchi II is a really nice Korean Restaurant, great atmosphere, the waiters are nice and the service is pretty fast and the food is great and at a decent price. It's too bad that it is in Savannah and not in Cayman because once I graduate I am going to miss it.
I was waiting until I had studied more Korean so that I could order my food in Korean. However I couldn't wait any longer. So, out of a few dishes a few people suggested to me I chose to try 떡볶이 (tteokbokki) and 짬뽕 (Champong). I chose 떡볶이 because it looked to be pretty popular street food in Korea and I really wanted to try it :D. 짬뽕 was my adventurous dish because I don't like squid or was that octopus lol but I did like what it did for the flavour. Both dishes were really good, will have them again.
mmmmm yummy nom!
